Red Squirrel Conservation Meeting
Lower Coquetdale Red Squirrels Group are working to extend their effective range of grey squirrel control in the area. It currently consists of volunteers who operate along the Coquet from Brinkburn, through Swarland, Felton & Thirston and down to Warkworth.
Scheduled: 19 September 2026 - 10:00 to 11:00
A brief presentation about the issues grey squirrels cause, the red squirrel conservation
work and the many ways in which volunteers can get involved in red squirrel
conservation.
The brief presentation will start at 10am and will take approximately fifteen minutes. The group
can then take questions; discuss further the ways people can volunteer and then take
names and contact details.
As well as new volunteers to the group, the group are hoping that farmers, land owners and
home owners, who have grey squirrels on their property, will attend so that they can
discuss gaining permission to control greys on their land.
